Community radio production

One World

As well as improving community spirit locally, many of Radio Darmstadt's programmes try to make people feel part of the global community. In particular, a weekly programme called 'One World' looks at different aspects of sustainable technology and development.

The One World programmes are made by representatives from organisations like Amnesty International (which fights for human rights), the Anti-Racism and Peace Forum, and the local fair trade shop. Programmes focus on issues such as:
Often, guests from other countries are invited to talk about problems in their community, giving the people of Darmstadt a global perspective on issues like poverty, hunger, global trade, unemployment and the environment.
