Is the Tribopen sustainable?
Think about the following.
- Most plastics are made from oil or gas, which are finite resources. If plastics can be recycled, they should be. But for this to happen, they have to be identified and sorted to prevent cross-contamination between different polymers. The Tribopen makes this possible efficiently and simply.
- New European legislation on disposing of old cars is resulting in a new scrap industry that, together with emergent recycling industries, creates jobs.
- Are we too indiscriminate in our use of plastics? Should we be using less? Or should we be trying to use more plastics from sustainable sources, such as starch-based polymers?
- Just because a plastic can be identified and recycled, it doesn't follow that it will be. Is the necessary infrastructure in place?
