DMA: On your bike? (Resistant materials/textiles)
In groups, identify individuals and/or groups who might benefit from a bike/s that has been adapted or added to in order to meet the needs of its user. Design and make a model of a prototype bike that meets the user's needs. Consider the issue of safety.
Research: Investigate a range of ways in which bikes are designed to meet the needs of specialist users.
DMA: Campaigning for action (Graphics)
Design and make a display to put in your school hall or entrance that encourages young people to come to school by bike.
Research: Carry out a class/school survey to find out how many people travel to school by bike. Identify ways in which young people would be encouraged to cycle to school.
